CAT-MH®

ComputerIZED Adaptive Testing®-Mental Health (CAT-MH) is a cloud-based, HIPAA secure, mental health severity assessment tool that leverages a large bank of test items and administers a small and optimal subset of questions for each individual, targeted to their level of severity and feedback.

Using the precision and accuracy of the CAT-MH, we can repeatedly assess (without response bias) subclinical levels of mental health issues such as anxiety and depression.

While CAT-MH is widely adopted today in health systems across the country, we are bringing the diagnostic tool to the sports market for the first time. Specifically, student-athletes.

THE TEST

PERSONAL

Adaptive testing evolves as a user takes a short assessment, and can be used innovatively to measure anxiety, depression, and other forms of psychopathology at both clinical and subclinical levels of severity.

PRIVATE

The assessment is administered on a smartphone and can be taken in the privacy of your own home. It does not require a trained clinician.

PROGRESSIVE

Through its adaptive administration, the assessment provides equal levels of precision throughout the underlying mental health continuum, from subclinical to clinical levels of psychopathology.

THE SCIENCE

Multi-dimensional item response theory and computerized adaptive testing ensures precise measurement of anxiety, depression, and other forms of psychopathology.

Developed and validated through 15 years of continuous National Institute of Mental Health (NIH) funding and published in over 50 top-tier scientific peer-reviewed journals.

CAT-MH is tailored to each individual's specific level of severity, enhancing assessment accuracy.

Capable of detecting subclinical levels of mental health issues, which can impact performance and life functioning.

Validated against structured clinical diagnostic interviews for various disorders and suicide risks, making it suitable for both screening and measurement-based care during treatment.
